Bringing Baby Home is a program for new parents experiencing the transition to parenthood.
Did you know that two-thirds of couples experience an increase in hostility over the 1st three years of a babies life? The transition from a couple to a family, while exciting and rewarding, is full of challenges.
Based on John Gottman's research, Bringing Baby Home will help:
- Reverse the drop in couple relationship satisfaction following the birth of a baby.
- Increase your social and emotional understanding of your baby.
- Increase father involvement and effectiveness.
- Help you to gain an better understanding of infant development and temperament changes.
In this program you will learn how to manage the stress and added responsibilities a new baby brings. You will learn skills to help you communicate and stay connected to your partner, even when the baby takes center stage. Learn to understand your babies needs. Learn signs and symptoms of post-partum depression and anxiety. Learn how to lay a strong foundation for your relationship so that your family will thrive.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions will my partner and I have to come to for this program? Most couples finish this program in 6 to 8 sessions. Sometimes couples need extra support around a topic covered or other concerns come up for the couple as a result of going through this program. When this happens some couples will choose to schedule extra sessions.
How much does it cost? I charge $150 per session. Most sessions are 50 minutes in length.
Will insurance cover this? Unfortunately no. Insurance companies look to see if a session is "medically necessary". The topics covered in pre-baby couples counseling are not considered "medically necessary" by insurance companies.
